Resin Flooring Installation – Drone Facility Hangar (Aug 2025)

Blast Clean was commissioned by Wholeship to undertake the resin flooring works for a
Drone Facility Hangar located in Predannack Airfield. The project scope involved preparing
and coating a 480m² concrete floor, ensuring a high-performance finish suitable for
operational and aesthetic requirements. The work included mechanical preparation, multi-
coat epoxy resin application, and detailed safety demarcations, completed to the client’s
agreed specifications..

• Deliver a smooth, durable, and visually appealing resin floor to meet operational demands
• Ensure optimal adhesion and long-term performance through professional mechanical preparation
• Incorporate safety and branding elements, including hazard line markings and the company logo
• Complete all works efficiently within the planned timeframe, minimising disruption to the client’s operations

To achieve these goals, our team implemented a structured methodology:

1. Surface Preparation – Mechanically grinding the concrete surface to remove laitance and achieve an open-textured finish for superior coating adhesion.
2. Coating Application – Applying two coats of Epocoat HB SR epoxy resin for strength and resilience, followed by a final coat of PU UVR gloss white for a high-quality finish.
3. Safety & Visual Enhancements – Boxing out corners with black and yellow hazard lines
   at all door swing areas, ensuring compliance with safety best practices.
4. Brand Integration – Preparing the surface for the application of the client’s logo, as per agreed design, size, and colour specifications.

Throughout the process, all necessary quality checks were undertaken, and communication with the client was maintained to ensure every detail was aligned with their expectations.
